Hey Google, What's Your Name?

Hey Google, What's Your Name?

Who knew that an innocent question like, Hey Google, what’s your name? could elicit so many different answers! Not only do you get the typical response of My name is Google, but Google also replies with such interesting responses as Jessica and Jopet.

If you want to ask the question Hey Google, what’s your name? you might be surprised at how many different answers you receive!

The power of Hey

The Hey Google prompt is voice search on steroids. You can use it to perform a search with your voice alone. This means you don’t need to type any words at all into a mobile device; you can just talk and tell your phone what you want it to do.

Most people start talking before they realize that Google is listening, which then causes them to stutter and cut off their sentences. The good news is that hey google works equally well whether it’s spoken quickly or slowly (though saying hey google slower yields more accurate results).

Hey google also recognizes questions like Hey Google, where am I?, Hey Google, who built this?, and Hey Google, when was my birthday?. Hey google will work even if you're using an older Android device that doesn't have access to OK Google.

If you're looking for something specific, try asking Hey Google about [topic]. For example: Hey Google, how tall is Mount Everest? or Hey Google, how many countries are there in Africa?.

It starts with Google

When you start talking to your phone or computer, it’s important to be personal. It’s not enough to tell your device you want help you need to tell it who you are. This can be a little creepy (we don’t generally announce our names when we talk) but using our name helps voice activated software understand us better and respond appropriately.

For example, saying Hey Google before giving a command helps an Android smartphone know who is speaking and automatically choose what account it should use for that command.

It also lets people know who is commanding them so others won't be alarmed by talking computers in public spaces. If you have multiple accounts on your phone, Hey Google will ask which one you would like to use. If someone else tries to access your account on their own device, they will have to say Hey Google as well if they want their request processed.

The same goes for Apple devices: Saying Hey Siri at the beginning of a command makes sure Siri knows which user is talking and allows her to give more personalized responses than she would otherwise be able to do.

The importance of an inspirational name

Choosing an inspirational name is an excellent way to signal to potential customers and partners that you’re a company that doesn’t settle for mundane or cliché. More importantly, though, it can be a meaningful nod to your mission and vision.

Do your homework on names and stay away from anything else that sounds common or generic. Customers don’t want to get lost in a sea of companies all named ABC Corp. If you come up with something new and creative, use it as an opportunity to reflect on why you created your company in the first place. Keep your message clear by using it as part of your name from day one.

This will help build brand recognition and generate buzz both of which are key elements in growing your business. And if you do decide to change your name down the road, at least make sure it’s for a good reason! The power of words: Sometimes changing just one word can make all the difference between an okay idea and a great one.

Take Google what does Google mean? Nothing! But combined with search engine, we have something incredibly powerful: A search engine that also answers questions about what we search for (e.g., how do I set up my gmail account?). It goes beyond functionality; it makes searching more fun than ever before!

The power of a fitting domain

Choosing a domain name for your website isn’t something you want to overlook. After all, your domain name is what people will see when they click on your link it’s how they will remember and find you again (that is if they even visit you once in the first place).

When people search online, most of them do so using search engines like Bing or Google. If a user searches for Hello, and your website has that as its keyword phrase then it'll show up. So it makes sense to choose a keyword phrase that both matches what people are looking for and also follows as closely as possible to what people might actually say when searching online:

Hey google tumhara naam kya hai. Hey Google, What's Your Name? The power of a fitting domain: Choosing a domain name for your website isn’t something you want to overlook. After all, your domain name is what people will see when they click on your link it’s how they will remember and find you again (that is if they even visit you once in the first place).

A fitting username is just as important

It should be easy to spell, memorable (but not too obvious), and most importantly, reflect your brand’s personality. It’s unlikely you’ll ever tell anyone your username; so make sure it makes sense when translated from Punjabi.

Hint: Just because you start with a letter or word in English doesn’t mean it won’t work as a username for a Punjabi user (or vice versa). The name will likely be transliterated into Punjabi anyway by someone who already knows what you want to say. The best names are simple.

Avoid slang words and acronyms that may not translate well. For example, if your business is called Delhi Food Delivery Service but everyone calls it DFDS, then try finding another name that works both ways like DFCS. Even better would be something like Delhi Foods Delivery Service. Simple is always better than clever!

Having a catchy name helps!

If you ever want to be remembered by potential customers or clients, it’s important to get a name that people can easily remember. A decent name goes quite far in making a paramount brand for your startup.

When choosing your company name it helps to think about things like how easily recognizable it is (is it too similar to others?), how easy it is to spell and pronounce, and whether or not someone will try searching for your business with variations of your name.

Keep in mind that catchy names might also be trademarked by other companies (with legal action being taken if you're using something too similar), so make sure that you're using something unique and original when picking out your company name.

A good name that grows with you

Many people want to know what their baby will be called before it is born. The name that you choose for your baby can have an impact on your child’s life. So what should a parent look for in a good name? A name is not just something to call someone; it is also who they are and what they become.

A good first name should grow with its bearer through different stages of life and provide security, comfort and inspiration throughout their lifetime. As you choose a name for your baby, remember that once you say Hey Google..., anything could happen next! It might answer questions, find directions or set alarms. Or it might tell jokes or play music.

It might even wake up other smart devices around your home or connect you to businesses around town. It could change lives forever...or yours right now! You never know what Hey Google... will do because each time you use it, there’s a new adventure ahead - so ask away and start discovering today! But don't take our word for it: ask Hey Google...what's in store for tomorrow...or later today or tomorrow or whenever works best for you!

Good Luck & Enjoy..!!

Tips to finding a great online persona

There are a lot of factors that go into making a great online persona. The first step is coming up with an idea for your site. In my case, I knew I wanted to write a travel/humor-themed lifestyle site and wanted to use Hey Google as a running theme.

Research shows that sites with .com or .net addresses tend to show up higher in search engine results than those with .biz or .org domain names, so picking one is usually one of your first steps in naming your new brand. Once you have a name in mind, it’s time to pick out some nice graphics for your site.

A lot of blogs now feature custom graphics on their homepages and sidebar images, but if you don’t want to pay someone else to create them, there are plenty of free resources out there that allow you to create your own graphics at no cost (check out Canva).

You can also purchase stock photos from sites like Shutterstock or iStockPhoto just make sure they’re royalty free! It might take some time before you find something that works well with what you have in mind but once you do, it will be worth it!
